Our Vision
The Galigatya Education Centre is a very important component of our project on Buvuma, it has been established with the generous support of the Swiss based charity ‘Fisherman’s Children’.
Our vision is to offer the primary school children of the Parish of Kirongo the opportunity to become literate and numerate, to acquire the basic skills and enthusiasm to seek knowledge that they can carry on into secondary and subsequent education, and to enhance their individual lives and that of the wider community.

Our Aims
The Galigatya Education Centre has been established by Buvuma Forest for the purposes of acting in the overall interests of the Community with respect to:
Offering to the local children a safe, healthy and cheerful opportunity to obtain a sound educational grounding in a non-sectarian and enlightened environment.
Securing funding to build and to run a primary school to serve the local children.
Enhance the prospects of its children regardless of race, gender and religion.

The story so far…
Thanks to the generosity of the ‘Fisherman’s Children’ Charity the Galigatya Education Centre has now built the first classroom block which is already accepting children.
Fishermen’s Children generously propose to build additional buildings as required to accommodate the full range of primary grade pupils, and the staff, with all the ancillaries of a registered primary school.
